Neonatologist

Dr. Anil Lakkundi is a highly respected Staff Specialist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital. He has extensive experience in neonatal care, with a particular passion for supporting extremely premature babies.

Dr. Lakkundi’s commitment extends beyond the NICU, as he provides crucial developmental support with clinical follow-up for babies until they reach two years of age. He is an expert in managing surgical babies and provides consultations at the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit.

He also holds a Master of Clinical Leadership and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Newcastle. A dedicated volunteer, he is a licensed wildlife and reptile rescuer for Hunter Wildlife Rescue and WIRES. Dr. Lakkundi is fluent in English, Kannada, and Hindi.
