Paediatric Dietitian in Newcastle

Our paediatric dietitian service in Newcastle supports families with growth, fussy eating, and nutrition for children, including nutrition support for neurodivergent children. We take a supportive, family centred approach to food and mealtimes.

How a paediatric dietitian can help

A paediatric dietitian supports children and families across a range of everyday nutrition concerns. This can include supporting healthy growth, working through fussy or selective eating, and providing nutrition support for children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism or ADHD by understanding sensory preferences and building a positive relationship with food.

Dietitians take a neuroaffirming approach that focuses on the child's wellbeing and recognises that nutritional needs differ from child to child. Rather than simply providing a meal plan, they work with the family to understand the child's sensory preferences, aversions and eating habits without judgement, and offer practical, easy to follow strategies.
